Cookies/Candy/Snack Question (for non-USA folks)

Through another site I've been paired with someone to send snacks. I'm in the US and will be selecting items for a person in New Zealand. Other than them not caring for sour things, I can send anything.

Are there any snacks/candy you know about/are curious about from the US (or Southern US) that are not available in New Zealand/Australia?

I don't want to send something that can be bought in their neighborhood food store - I signed up for an international trade (instead of same country) because I want to show off something from my area.

I have seen haribo in Australia. New Zealand has pretty much everything Australia has, (except for I think Vegemite or TimTams , and New Zealand has these awesome huge 'Cookie Time' cookies that Australia doesn't have)

We don't have Twinkies. (So I assume New Zealand also doesn't have them). I only know they exist because they're referenced in so many American shows (and even my Mum's Mickey Mouse comic books from the 60s !).

If you post a list here of things you're thinking of, I can tell you whether we have them or if I've never heard of them before.

You don't have Twinkies, really? Wow!! What about other Hostess products, like Ding Dongs or Hostess Cupcakes? Or Snowballs??

Definitely Moon Pie and Twinkie then.

How about Doritos, Pringles, that kind of stuff? Any particular kinds of nuts you don't have? Twizzlers? Twix? Reese's.

I feel like that's a dumb question in a global economy but what do I know?

Depending on what part of the southern US you are in, I would suggest something like Mrs Baird's pies if you have them. I know they don't have them in other parts of the us, so I assume they don't sell anything like them internationally either.

We have Twizzlers, or at least the same thing with a different name? Or maybe it's just not that popular? I had to google it, but we do have those.
We don't have Reese's peanut cup thingies, except at specialist stores.

In fact, you might find this interesting, if you said 'pie' without specifying apple pie or some other fruit pie, the assumption is that you are talking about a meat pie (in NZ they call it a mince pie) containing beef mince in gravy (or sometimes steak pieces in gravy). It was a real surprise to me when back in primary school, the new girl from Canada didn't know what a (meat) pie was. A pie with tomato sauce (ketchup) at the footy (Australian Rules football) is a bit of an Australian tradition.

Okay, here is a stash I bought. I'm going to bring whatever weighs too much, etc. to work. To gather it all I went to a grocery store, a gas station, and Dollar Tree/Family Dollar/Dollar General stores. I think I got a fair amount of judgement at the checkout line. Also, I know you said you have the chips but those may just get used as "bubble wrap".

I think Little Debbie/Hostess/Tastykake are all basically the same thing. I don't remember ever seeing or eating Tastykake as a kid but it's everywhere now. I wonder if that happened when we thought Hostess was gone forever? Anyways, so I'm a Little Debbie fan (that's more traditionally southern) but got a sampling of Hostess products as well. I honestly don't know if Twinkies are even edible. I may have eaten them before? The person I'm mailing to seemed concerned about baked good because they thought they might mold but all this stuff is individually wrapped and sealed.

The theme for the package is supposed to be "Snacks." So of course I bought horrific cliche junk food.

Wow, what a stash!
The only thing I recognise other than the doritos and cheetos are the oreos. But even though we have oreos, they are very much an American thing to us; good choice. A little slice of America!
