Happy Thanksgiving and a New Custom!

Postby TequilaMockingbird » Thu Nov 26, 2015 12:41 am

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US! I want to share my newest Festival Friends custom for Thanksgiving. This is the Harvest Horses with Thankful Roadside Farmstand. I'm so happy to finally share this one. It took so many hours. I hope you enjoy it!

This is the repaint Mommy and Baby Pony.

There are 2 play areas for this play set. A harvest garden to collect veggies featuring a themed playmat. And a roadside farmstand to sell the veggies you have collected!

I hope you enjoyed this set! I had so much fun making it

That is AMAZING! I love the colours you chose and I love the idea of turning the stable into a roadside stall! The ponies are so cute, I love the detail and their adorable little hooves!

What's next in the Festival Friends theme? Christmas? Valentine's Day? I can't wait to see what else you produce.

Thank you!!! It is SO much work to make these customs. But so far I am loving the process and the end results.

My next project is Christmas. I hope I will have enough time. I'm just stuck on ideas. I'm open to suggestions! :D

Oh and I'm not sure if you can tell but the shelves are from the money playset. I spray painted them to match. I love it when I can reuse actual LPS pieces in a new way. :)

Yeah, I saw! I thought that was SO CLEVER. And the way they just fit into the stable and make those cute little shelves!

You've done a Scaredy Cat, but I like alliteration, so I'm going to suggest Christmas Cats. Maybe a wintry theme with the fluffy persian or some of the others kitties who come with fluffy tails?
Or maybe a mix of animals who are dressing up for outside shenanigans like the Scotty dog and his cute lil red jacket. And then they can come inside for hot chocolate!
Or maybe some winter wolves?

And Valentine's day could be some repainted 'love birds' who deliver valentine's day cards into letterboxes, the boxes from the Puppy Pals set. If I had doubles I'd probably try to make this one myself.

I was totally planning a repainted love bird set for Valentine's Day! The green ones with the pink faces. I love your letter idea!! I think you may be on to something with the Christmas ones. I have been trying to explore the clothing options too. My original concept for the Halloween kitty was a purple cape but couldn't find a way to make it work. But scarves would be easier. Thanks for all of your amazing ideas. Maybe we need to go into business together. :D

You'd have to cut a very specific shape and maybe attach a teeny tiny bit of velcro like some of the horse accessories to get that to work around an awkward shape like the Scaredy Cat, I think.

Yes exactly. The body shape isn't great for a cape. Maybe next time... :P

So gorgeous and such wonderful creativity!! I'm super jealous of your drawing skills. Whenever I'm dreaming up customs, I always envision them as complete sets with a playmat or other original illustrations, but that's where my artistic abilities fall short.
