LPS's renovation

Postby Bonbon » Fri Jun 27, 2014 4:39 am

I don't know if I'm in the right section but I would like to share my experience.
Perhaps you'll need to restore your old LPS...
When I found again my chilhood's LPS, they were tinted. I was so sad... It was because of their stay in a danked cellar for 2 years in the same pocket with Schleich's figurines.

The secret to give back their beauty is undiluted hygrogen peroxide, sun and time !
You've to plunge the LPS in the hygrogen peroxide (I use an half plastic's bottle) and wait 2-3 days or until the result is correct for you.
This method is so great because the LPS find back their original's aspect and it doesn't damage the paint or the eyes' details ect...

It's working for all the animals, those which are not white, those which are pearly !

The installation

Thank you so much for sharing that trick! I have some pieces that could use that bath.

Hahaha ! I love the names you've given it !
Bon travail ! Well done !
It's good to see them as beautiful as before, isn't it ?

I would do the same thing with my Quints.
But they have stickers. :?
I should take it off previously very carefully in heating it with a hair dryer (scan it, if possible), and then replace them with a glue that will not stain ...

Yes, I prefer to see them in a better condition !
They have childhood names so it's funny !
Now I have to find names for all my new Lps...
And I have to finish the eyes' restauration for Chouchou the dalmatian...

Good luck with your Quints ! The restauration sounds difficult but I'm sure you'll do a beautiful work ;)

Sorry Alie, I forgot to give you an answer ! It would be a good idea but it's not possible, I have to finish it because Chouchou was one of my LPS' sister favorite... I would like to give him his original condition for her...

Thanks a lot, you're so sweet ! ;)

I used a very small paintbrush (3/0), for the paint : a black, white and blue acrylic ones (I've used a glossy one for one eye, it's better for the noise).

When I wasn't satisfied, I used a Q-tip with a little drop of argan oil so as to erase the mistake, it's very efficient. I tried many times before being satisfied.

And to finish, I used a toothpick for the 2 white points in the eye !

You know everything now and I hope it helps you !

I'm very impatient to see your renovations TequilaMockingbird... :)
