Finally tracked down a complete Perky Playful Kittycats set! I had these when I was young, but it was one of only 2 LPS sets I ever (foolishly) sold. This also was the final mini pets set that I needed.
And yes, that's a "decorative" license plate corner you see behind them.
Found the variation ducklings on Ebay! I decided to keep the extra mommy duck with them since 4 ducklings seems like a lot of work for one mommy duck.
