Vintage Barbie Horses

Postby LPS-in-Germany » Wed May 28, 2014 1:51 pm

I started to recollect ALL the toys I also had during my childhood.
Actually I totally fell in love with sorts of vintage Barbie Horses...

Honestly I can't believe that I did not became aware of them earlier.
The vintage ones are SOOO beautiful! I mean the 80's and early 90's Barbie Horses...

The one I ever dreamed of (I had seen it on a cousin's shelf) was SunRunner and I finally could buy him!
Thanks Sarah, for receiving it for me =)

I had a barbie horse! I forget which one, but what was cool was that my mom bought me a carriage (yes be totally jealous)!

Aww so pretty! I never had any as a kid, but they really remind me of Fashion Fillies, which I loved.

I love the old Barbie horses! My sister and I had the one that walked, don't remember her name. A couple years ago I was at a Goodwill and found one in the you bin! I grabbed her, I think she was only a dollar or something (this was the scary goodwill in Seattle where they dump everything in bins and you buy stuff by the pound). I never realized how annoying she is though, she neighs every five steps or so. :P I haven't replaced her batteries since they ran out. XD My girls had her on all the time!

I have a horse. He's the exact size of a Barbie horse. I don't know if he officially is. He's very old. My cousin gave him to me in the 80s! I called him 'Caramel' because he's a lovely caramel colour. I was pretty original when I was four years old!

The tack from another Barbie horse fit him perfectly. I'll see if I can take a picture later and see if anyone recognises him?

Those horses are created in a way that they look so proud and elegant.
I remember that I always wanted to have the Suncharm horse when I was young...but there was another one. He is bigger than other Barbie horses - a brown pinto...it was a fight finding him and I found out that he was an EU production only. His name is Lucky <3 <3 <3

When I was on vacation I disovered him on ebay. His mane was in a great shape and I could win the auction!! I am soooo happy - he came with his saddle, blanket (which is said to be very rare) and the harness. I still need the other accessoiries (horseshoes, hair decorations etc...) and possibly the box some day - but for the moment I am over the moon happy about him... :D :D

Thank you Brittany - and guess what!!
I found him in a complete and perfect condition WITH BOX today.

What shall I say...I believe he was overpriced, but I bought him.

We've all done the over-priced, but when you find him is the time to buy them.

Well, this is the one I have. Turns out not only is it a mare, not a stallion as I have had him all these years, but she actually is officially Barbie and her name is Dallas!

Great - and even with box.
Do you collect Barbie Horses in general or is it just a relic of bygone days?
